Farming is the primary activity in Pixels. Crops are grown on farm plots that can be found on the lands. Players can grow crops on each farm they visit, with the farm getting its share of the resources collected (a 20% tax). If the land on which the farm is located belongs to the player, then they keep 100% of the harvest.
The player can complete quests or tasks to get additional rewards. Quests are regularly updated. Here’s an example:
A simple quest where the player is introduced to the basic mechanics of making money. In the beginning, the player goes to Uncle Barney's farm, where the first quest will begin. To pass it, you just need to take the seeds from Uncle Barney, sow them, and collect and sell the harvest. Reward: 500 points.
The further the player progresses in the game, the more mechanics, resources, items, and industries will be available. At the initial stage, players will have access to two skills: Cooking and Crafting.
Cooking and Getting Recipes
The Cooking mechanic allows players to brew drinks and cook food. The player can use different ingredients to create and unlock new recipes, which give enhanced buffs and unique effects.
Crafting allows the player to create valuable items for their home. These can be chairs, tables, chests, windmills, tools, etc. Some Woodcrafting items can be useful for more than just decorative purposes. Similar to the recipe system in the Cooking mechanic, in the Crafting mechanic, the player must have a blueprint of the item to begin creating it.
Customization (Land Ownership, Map Builder)
Players can build their homes on three types of plots, each with its own advantages and limitations. Free and rental plots will be mostly single-player plots, and visitors will not be able to see your farm. You don't have to own a plot of land to access the game's features.
Also known as Specks, are the basic type that allows the player to engage in basic farming activities. The free plots do not have much functionality and produce much fewer crops than the others.
Leased plots give players more freedom, higher yields, and space for ornamental purposes, but the disadvantage is that the player has to rent them, thus losing a lot of their profits.
Own plots give the player additional space, functionality, and the highest income and yield of all plot types. Landowners have unique advantages. For example, unique industries are available on such lands.
